The Carmelo Yacht Berth is located by the banks of the Las Vacas creek, in a place of singular natural beauty, which, combined with the charm of the city of Carmelo, makes it a mandatory landfall site for yachting on the Río de la Plata river.

Services provided by the ANP:

  • Moorings.
  • Single-phase electric power (2 live poles + ground, 220v/50hz.)
  • Connection elements: polarized cable under rubber with 16, 32 or 64 amp industrial plug. (2 poles + ground at 6h) depending on the boat’s needs.
  • Drinking water (If you wish to have access to this service, you must have a hose with a jet cutter)
  • Toilets (Open 24 hs.).
  • Showers in high season (8:00 AM to midnight) and low season (8:00 AM to 10:00 PM).
  • Surveillance (24 hs.).
  • Dishwasher sinks, barbecue grills, tables and benches.
  • Camping for sailors.

Services provided by private parties:

  • Fuel supply.
  • General supplies and maintenance services for boats.

Tourist attractions in the area:

  • The yacht pier and extensive beach areas, mainly Zagarzazú and Seré. 
  • The bridge over the Las Vacas creek, the first revolving bridge and the only one powered by human traction in Uruguay.
  • The Estancia de las Vacas with its Chapel and Calera de las Huérfanas, founded by the Jesuits.
  • The Mill and Puente Castells, called Puente Camacho, a pioneer site of the milling industry, for more than a century.
  • The Estancia Narbona, the oldest building in Uruguay, built between 1732 and 1738 in the corner formed by the Las Víboras creek and the Río de la Plata river. 
  • The Cantera del Cerro, northeast of the city.
  • The famous local wineries, offering a journey through the aromas and flavors of the region’s excellent wines.
